See below Matthew’s superb tasting notes on our Elicere 2010 Grenache Shiraz and Aurum Release 2010 Shiraz:

2010 Elicere Grenache Shiraz McLaren Vale
I’m always thrilled to see MCL Grenache at Touch Wine because the peculiar Mediterranean climate in this beautiful part of the world seems to allow Grenache to retain all of its juiciness and chocolaty notes without attracting some of the leathery, gamey notes one sees in Barossa versions. 2010 Elicere is a modern example of just how enticing the wines from this part of the world are. The Shiraz element doesn’t bully the fleshy Grenache and the oak is in epic balance with the whole. I must confess to swallowing every tasting sip of this wine such is its gloss and irresistibility.

2010 Aurum Shiraz McLaren Vale
The bottle looks like it is a container of the most expensive olive oil known to mankind but on closer inspection and with the word Shiraz winking at me, you know that there is something special in this artistically packaged bottle. 2010 McLV Shiraz is a compelling proposition from any winemaker but Lavina’s top cuvee is a massive, brooding, imposing beast which needs many years to unravel its charms. The Catch 22 is simply this, do you want and risk the chance of never seeing it again, or do you act now and secure some stock. I’m sure you can answer this question for yourselves!
